American Freight Furniture, Mattress and Appliance, a leading national retailer offering in-store and online access to furniture, mattresses and appliances at discount prices, has awarded the largest deal of its franchise program to James (Jimmy) Day. The deal will add seven locations across Texas to the company’s growing footprint of more than 360 locations across the U.S.
Day is an avid competitive cyclist and multi-unit owner and operator of businesses spanning the automotive, real estate, charter jet, hospitality and furniture industries. Over the last 30 years, he has owned and operated several cattle ranches and was instrumental in importing the South African Boer Goat to the United States. Day received his MBA with the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence from the University of Texas at Austin shortly after owning his first business, Burr-Day Transportation. He went on to found the San Antonio-based company DPR Investments LLC in 1996 and grew it to become the largest franchise for Aaron’s Sales and Lease in the nation.

Since adopting the franchising model in early 2021, American Freight has awarded 10 franchise agreements to multi-unit operators that represent 41 new locations.
