Dogs Gone Green? Camp Bow Wow Dog Camps Go Green on Corporate and Franchisee Levels

BOULDER, CO--(Marketwire - July 8, 2009) - Camp Bow Wow, the Premier Doggy Day and Overnight Camp® franchise, has announced their ecological paw print is getting smaller as they work to go Green on the corporate and franchisee level.

"Humans and dogs alike deserve the very best Green lifestyle possible, and we are taking extensive steps to go Green from the corporate level on down," said Heidi Ganahl, Founder and Top Dog of Camp Bow Wow.

On the corporate level, Camp Bow Wow and Home Buddies by Camp Bow Wow employ a Green janitorial service, purchase environmentally friendly products (including recycled paper products), serve organic foods when possible in the office, use biodegradable cleaning detergents and hand soaps, and eco-friendly light bulbs. The dog day care company also provides monthly bus passes for employees that use the bus to come to work.

On the franchisee level, all Camp Bow Wow doggy day cares have access to purchase Green Seal certified products including BioRenewables glass cleaner, Green Solutions industrial cleaner and Sunflower Fresh hand wash from the Spartan Chemical Company. These products are based on maximizing renewable resources and are generally healthier and safer for people and dogs.

Camp Bow Wow is integrating environmentally friendly paints, flooring and floor finishes into our new Camp build out process along with utilizing natural versus artificial light and fresh air circulation to aerate the Camps.

Finally, Camp Bow Wow is even looking into recycling dog waste at several of their Colorado camps, as a test to launch system wide, into saleable manure with a potential partner.

"We care about your dogs as if they were our own; we want to avoid using strong chemicals around them while still maintaining a clean environment where they can play, romp and receive lots of love and attention," said Ganahl.

Camp Bow Wow is the Premier Doggy Day and Overnight Camp® with over 90 current locations and another 115 additional camps under development around the country and in Canada. Camp Bow Wow is a national leader in the $500 million dog daycare and dog boarding industry.
