October 10, 2013 // Franchising.com // Long Beach, CA - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in Long Beach on October 2. Franchise owner Alvaro Garcia held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, October 2 to Sunday, October 6 to support Mark Twain Elementary School, Carver Elementary School, Emerson Parkside Academy, and Marshall Academy of The Arts.
The new restaurant, located at 3821 Lakewood Boulevard, circulated 2,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Mark Twain Elementary School, Carver Elementary School, Emerson Parkside Academy, and Marshall Academy of The Arts.
Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.
