New Sport Clips Haircuts CEO Named

July 17, 2020 // Franchising.com // GEORGETOWN, Tex. - Founder Gordon Logan announced today the Sport Clips Haircuts board of directors has elected Edward Logan to succeed him as the new CEO of Sport Clips, Inc., the franchisor of the Sport Clips Haircuts system.

"Edward has grown up in the business and played a key role in the company's growth since he joined full-time in 2010, setting new standards for excellence as president and chief operating officer. It's been rewarding working closely with him these past 10 years, and his leadership during the COVID-19 crisis has been exemplary," says Gordon Logan. "As chairman of Sport Clips, I look forward to supporting Edward in his new role to continue the steady growth of Sport Clips and the continual improvement of our franchisees’ profitability. I am confident he will ensure the championship experience we deliver for our exceptional franchisees and clients will exceed expectations."

“I am humbled by the opportunity to serve Sport Clips’ clients, stylists, franchisees, and central support team. It’s something I’ve dreamed of and worked toward for many years," Edward Logan says. "We will rise above the current challenges everyone is dealing with, and we will do so by continuing the values-based legacy of Sport Clips that makes everyone within Sport Clips feel like family, that Gordon and Bettye created for us all.”

After graduating from SMU and prior to joining Sport Clips, Edward served as a consultant with Deloitte Consulting in Dallas. In his early work with Sport Clips, Edward oversaw the company-owned stores taking many of them to top performers within the system and working to pioneer company-wide innovations used throughout the system today.

Sport Clips has a strong record of supporting its team members, both employees of Sport Clips, Inc. and those of its franchisees, as well as veterans and children’s causes.  Edward is committed to continuing this integral aspect of our corporate culture:

Gordon and Bettye began Sport Clips in 1993 with Coach Lou Holtz' "Heart of a Champion" philosophies: “Do your best; do what’s right; and treat others the way they want to be treated.” These are the values on which Sport Clips was founded 27 years ago and they remain the focus today. Edward shares, “I had the opportunity to visit with Coach Holtz in February, where he awarded Gordon the IFA Hall of Fame Award. I asked him how he would recommend leading today and without hesitation he shared with me his advice, ‘No matter what challenge or opportunity you are dealing with, always follow these three simple rules: Do what’s right, do your best, and treat others the way they want to be treated.’ In speaking with a legend, the simplicity and truth of those words were impressive, and we aim to continue to advance that way of doing business.

“I have the utmost confidence in every individual in the Sport Clips system and together we will take this foundation that was already very special and unique in business, and build our future together.”
