Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Titus Center for Franchising Announces Five Scholarships

August 25, 2022 // Franchising.com // WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA - Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Titus Center for Franchising will award five scholarships in November.

They are the Don Dwyer Sr., Seiber Family, JJ Prendamano, Chick-fil-A West Palm Beach and Kobel Family endowed scholarships. Each scholarship is $2,500, and full-time Palm Beach Atlantic students who are studying franchising are encouraged to apply. Students may apply for more than one scholarship.

The scholarships will be awarded Nov. 16 at the Titus Center Advisory Board meeting on PBA’s campus, where business consultant and author Dr. K. Shelette Stewart is keynote speaker. Apply for the scholarships at TitusCenterforFranchising.com.

“Only a handful of universities teach franchising, and even fewer offer franchise scholarships, so we’re blessed at Palm Beach Atlantic University to award five scholarships this year,” explained Dr. John P. Hayes, CFE, director of the Titus Center. “This is the third year we’ve awarded scholarships and they are much appreciated by our students.”

• Don Dwyer Sr. was founder of The Dwyer Group, now known as Neighborly, in Waco, Texas. He was dedicated to “fostering the American dream worldwide and creating opportunities for families to enrich their lives.” His family established the scholarship in his name.
• Geoff and Sherri Seiber, founders of FranFund, established a scholarship to “help students achieve dreams they might otherwise think are impossible.” Seiber is a PBA American Free Enterprise Day Companion Medalist and very involved in Titus Center activities, including as an Advisory Board member.
• JJ Prendamano was the general manager at United Franchise Group for more than 25 years and was Ray Titus’ father-in-law. The Titus family is giving back by “encouraging students to never stop learning.”
• Rob Morris, a Chick-fil-A franchisee in West Palm Beach, employs PBA student interns and has helped 17 PBA graduates become Chick-fil-A franchisees. He values franchising as a career and believes in supporting franchise education. Morris frequently speaks to franchise classes and is a Titus Center Advisory Board member.
• The Kobel family wants to “empower the next generation of young leaders” and to “learn, forge and abide with Jesus, and to change the world.” Kobel’s family foundation provides funding for the franchise scholarship.
