About Jake's Hamburgers
Jake's Wayback Burgers serves the best burgers under the bun, hand pattied from 100% fresh, never frozen ground beef and grilled to order. Jake's Wayback offers amazing shakes that are made from real milk and ice cream, served in a frosty metal shaker. Jake's Wayback has also added new items to their menu, such as marinated grilled chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers, turkey burgers, and house-made chips, as well as the famous Burger and Shake of the Month.
Company History
Jake's Hamburgers began with a single restaurant in Newark, DE in 1991, that still occupies its original home on Route 273. Home to the University of Delaware, Newark is also known for its automotive plants (little known fact: reggae icon Bob Marley worked in one) and Main St. shopping district. A simple, unassuming "burger joint," Jake's soon became several stores and one of the region's favorite burgers.
Jake's stands for fresh food, crafted to order while you wait, and the wait is half the fun. Watch milk shakes being made the old-fashioned way, thick and creamy with real ice cream in a blender, served in metal cups to keep them cold and flavorful. Likewise, you can see that the burgers are made to order and hearty, not "hockey pucks." Jake's does not serve fast food from under a heat lamp.
