Little Caesars(R) Love Kitchen(R) Serves Pizza to Make a Difference in Southeast Michigan

DETROIT, Aug. 11 // PRNewswire // -- The Little Caesars Love Kitchen will roll into the metro Detroit area to provide fresh, hot pizza meals for more than 3,000 people from August 10-15. The week will begin with the Love Kitchen providing high quality, fresh pizza to military members and their families at Selfridge Air National Guard Base's annual Family Fun Day and continue with stops at Detroit shelters and soup kitchens.

"Our brave military men and women dedicate their lives to serving and defending this country," said Louis Asher, Little Caesars Detroit-area franchisee. "Serving them and their families a fresh, hot pizza is just a small way we can say thank you for their service."

The 127th Wing, Michigan Air National Guard, oversees base operations at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, a unique military base that has been home to American military aviation since 1917. Selfridge is the most diverse military installation in the United States, with units representing the Air Force, Army, Navy and Marines, as well as Coast Guard and Border Patrol.

The Little Caesars Love Kitchen will then visit Capuchin Soup Kitchen and other area shelters to feed people in need in the Detroit area. A pizza kitchen on wheels, the Little Caesars Love Kitchen travels across the continental United States and Canada, meeting the needs of the hungry, the homeless and disaster survivors.

"Little Caesars created the Love Kitchen to provide quality meals for people who need them, and we're committed to helping people in need here at home," said Brian Pattison, Vice President-Midwest Zone, Little Caesar Enterprises, Inc. "Giving back has been part of the way Little Caesars does business since shortly after the first store opened in 1959. We believe it is important to do our part to help the community and families in need in the Detroit area."

Local Little Caesars franchise owners and company regional offices donate all food and labor costs for the Love Kitchen servings. An estimated 50,000 Little Caesars franchise owners and employees have volunteered their time over the years to support the program in their local communities.

The Little Caesars Love Kitchen has fed more than two million people in 48 states and three Canadian provinces. It has also responded to disasters such as the recent floods in Iowa, the site of the World Trade Center attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, and the 1995 Federal Building bombing in Oklahoma City. Established by the Ilitch family in 1985, the Love Kitchen exemplifies Little Caesars' strong tradition of giving back to America's communities.

Former U.S. Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush awarded The President's Volunteer Action Award Citation to Little Caesars for its volunteers' contributions to the Little Caesars Love Kitchen. Little Caesars also received a Presidential Citation for Private Sector Initiatives for the Love Kitchen program under the Reagan administration.

While in the Detroit area, the Little Caesars Love Kitchen will also visit:
