U.S. Military Veteran Becomes Business Owner Under Little Caesars Veterans Program

Greenwood, Miss. - Little Caesars® Pizza today proudly celebrates the grand opening of another store under the Little Caesars Veterans Program, as former U.S. Marine Corp. Lance Corporal, Scott Newburn opens his Little Caesars Pizza restaurant at 603 Viola Sanders Dr. – Suite 500 in Greenwood, Mississippi.

“I was ecstatic when I heard about this franchise opportunity from my cousin, Mark, who is also an owner of a Little Caesars franchise,” said Newburn. “After receiving more details about the Little Caesars Veterans Program, I knew immediately that this is what I wanted to do.”

Newburn grew up in Mobile, Ala. He is a former Brigham Young University student who enrolled in 2004 to pursue a degree in facility and property management. Newburn joined the Marine Corp Reserve in May 2006 and was deployed to Iraq in June 2007.

“It’s important to me that my name is associated with a quality business, and Little Caesars offers that opportunity,” said Newburn. “I’ve worked extremely hard in everything I’ve done my entire life. I look forward to starting a new chapter in my life as a Little Caesars franchise owner in Greenwood.”

Some of the menu items Newburn will feature in his store include HOT-N-READY® Pizza, Crazy Bread®, Caesar Wings® and Caesar Dips®.

The Little Caesars Veterans Program was created in 2006 to thank veterans for their service and provide them with career opportunities when they transition to civilian life or seek a change.

“The Little Caesars Veterans Program is a great way for veterans to explore different career options when their service is complete,” said Bob Mazziotti, vice president U.S. Development, Little Caesars Pizza. “I’m confident Scott will utilize the leadership skills learned in the Marines as he runs his Little Caesars store.”

Since the program launched, interest has remained high in the Little Caesars Veterans Program. More than 65 veterans have collectively benefited from more than $1.5 million in credits and discounts to open their Little Caesars stores. A dozen veterans have already built a second or third Little Caesars store, with plans to build more.
