October 04, 2012 // Franchising.com // Westwood – The scene at 20 Kinderkamack Road on Saturday, September 29th was more like a colossal birthday party than the official launch of a new business in Westwood. More than 400 people attended the Grand Opening Celebration of Rainbow Academy’s newest early learning center in Bergen County. Pint-sized patrons were treated to balloon creations, face painting and tattoos, as well as a Big Bubble Show with music and dancing. The festivities also included tours of the center, classroom learning activities, whiteboard demonstrations, lots of foods and a ribbon cutting ceremony that served as the icing on the cake.
“We are overwhelmed with the response from the community and even happier to have so many families us today,” said Brenda Febbo, Owner of Rainbow Academy of Westwood of the event. “This is the fourth Rainbow Academy to open in Bergen County and the wonderful reputation of our other centers has certainly helped to strengthen our launch. My husband and I are so thrilled to be part of this family of early learning centers, it really is something special.”
Located at the corner of Green Avenue and Kinderkamack Road, the Westwood center is dedicated to Rainbow Academy’s “Circle of Care” philosophy – where the needs of the parents are just as important as the needs of the children it serves. This is accomplished through open lines of communication between parents and staff, extended hours to aid with longer work days for dual-income parents, state-of-the-art bio-metric security systems to ensure the safety of the students, and ParentView® Internet Monitoring to enable parents to stay connected with their children throughout the day.
“The staff at Rainbow Academy of Westwood made what was the hardest decision of my life, one of the best decisions of my life,” explained Vanessa Caldwell, Westwood resident and mother of one of Rainbow Academy’s newest students, Gianna. “They put everything they have into what they do and it shows. From the safety of my daughter to the smile on her face each day, it’s evident.”
Another item that was of particular interest to many of the parents and children who have toured the Westwood center since its opening are the Interactive Whiteboards in every pre-k classroom – cutting edge technology that brings traditional learning to life. Used as an enhancement to the Seedlings Early Childhood Education Program, this valuable learning tool allows teachers and students to explore the world beyond the walls of the classroom. Children learning about the letter “A” can now visit the San Diego Aquarium and text questions to the tank divers or watch the antelope at the waterhole in Africa.
"Choosing to enroll my son in Rainbow Academy of Westwood has proven to be a great investment in his education and well-being and my peace of mind,” said Jennifer Yang, local resident and parent of one of the Westwood center’s earliest enrollees, Ethan. “He's having fun while learning and I can stay connected to him throughout the day via live video feed! But more importantly, he's being cared for by a staff that gives him and every child the individual attention they need."
Spaces are available at the new Rainbow Academy of Westwood while there is still open enrollment. To schedule a tour of the facility, interested parents can call (201) 722-0010 or drop by at any time. Anthony and Brenda Febbo are the owners of the Westwood center. In total, Rainbow Academy is currently comprised of thirteen centers – employing over 350 team members serving more than 1800 children across New Jersey in Bergen, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Morris, Monmouth and Union counties.
