KFC Canada Cooks Up Something Fresh

World's First KFC Select Opens Today in Toronto - Serving Up So Good Chicken Burgers, Grilled Chicken Burritos, Rice Bowls, Salads and Desserts

VAUGHAN, ONTARIO - (Marketwired - Dec. 16, 2013) - KFC Canada is cooking up something fresh - the world's first ever KFC Select, a new fast casual restaurant concept from KFC that serves up premium chicken fillets and burgers, grilled chicken burritos, rice bowls, salads and irresistible desserts.

The 1200 square foot restaurant is located in the hub of Toronto's busy Bloor Street business and shopping district. The first-ever KFC Select features a bright, inviting contemporary design with exposed brick and warm wood finishes. An open kitchen allows guests to see their salads, grilled chicken burritos and premium chicken burgers being freshly prepared.

An exciting line-up of waffle fries and side salads rounds out combos at KFC Select. The menu also features Crispy Strips, hand-breaded premium chicken breasts with a choice of dip; warm soft flour tortilla burritos filled with grilled chicken, cilantro and rice - and the KFC Select Fresh Deluxe, a crispy chicken fillet sandwich topped with cilantro mayo, mild cheddar and crisp lettuce. Another standout is the KFC Select Kream Ball dessert, featuring a smooth swirl of vanilla ice cream, chocolate hazelnut drizzle and bits of chocolate brownie.

"KFC has been opening updated designs around the country, including bright, dynamic food courts at the Eaton Centre and Yorkdale. Burquier says the company is excited to open the world's first KFC Select in Canada and believes this concept will have high appeal with customers across Canada.

"KFC Select is a new experience that's well-suited for a smaller space and an urban neighbourhood like Bloor Street," explains Janmohamed. "The opportunity to build on something consumers love is very exciting - and is the perfect addition to our portfolio of standalone KFC restaurants," he says.
