15-Year Checkers® Restaurant Manager Fulfils Dream of Ownership with Brother's Support

Siblings Combine More Than 30 Years of Franchise Industry Experience to Develop Checkers in Buffalo

Tampa, FL (PRWEB) July 07, 2014 - Checkers and Rally's Restaurants, Inc. (Checkers®), the largest double drive-thru chain in the United States, continues to attract experienced and business-savvy entrepreneurs eager to grow with the innovative brand. Highlighting the business opportunities that the brand offers, Gail Gentry, who has been a Checkers restaurant manager for more than 15 years, will be relocating to Buffalo, New York to open her first Checkers restaurant with her brother, Bill Nowak.

After more than 30 years of combined experience in the franchising industry, the duo will fulfill their aspiration of owning a restaurant in July 2014 with the opening of their first Checkers restaurant at 2563 Union Road, Cheektowaga, NY. The opening will kick start the duo's plans to develop at least five Checkers restaurants by 2018.

Gentry got her start in the franchise industry at the age of 21, joining Taco Bell as a crew member before making her way up to general manager, then district supervisor, and finally Director of Training of more than 85 stores at the end of her 13-year tenure with the brand. Gentry has since acted as the manager of six Checkers restaurants in South Florida during the past 20 years.

Although Nowak also spent a few years as a crew person at Taco Bell during his college years, his expertise lies in computer programming and business consulting. He has previously worked as a consultant for major accounting firms such as PricewaterhouseCoopers before joining Siemens in IT Development and Training.

While Nowak takes care of the back-end of the business, Gail will tap into her passion and experience with the Checkers brand to manage daily operations.

"I have been a store manager for around 20 years, and I understand the importance of supporting the community and remaining involved, which is how we will approach our new restaurants," Gentry said.

Checkers continues to add craveable menu selections and introduce daring flavors to its fans. Options such as Monsterella Stix, Cold Creations and the original Big Buford® aim to bring the freshest ingredients and boldest flavors to hungry guests.
