Schlotzsky's invites guests to celebrate its birthday on October 7 by enjoying the one-of-a-kind sandwich that started it all. Schlotzsky's locations nationwide will offer a free small The Original sandwich with the purchase of chips and a medium drink. The sandwich features 13 fresh, flavorful ingredients, including fresh-from-scratch sourdough buns baked in restaurants daily. Guests also now have the choice to "Make It Deluxe" by adding double the meat to any sandwich for a small upcharge.
Offering Udi's Gluten Free® Buns
Guests with gluten-based dietary restrictions can now enjoy the genuine Schlotzsky's experience with the addition of a new gluten free bun to its signature lineup of fresh, oven-baked breads. Schlotzsky's will now offer buns from Udi's Gluten Free, the leading gluten free brand in America, for a small upcharge.
Udi's Gluten Free buns come individually wrapped and Schlotzsky's follows stringent operational procedures for gluten sensitive preparation at the restaurants. Guests with gluten intolerance and gluten sensitivities can now choose to order any of the oven-baked Signature Sandwiches on Schlotzsky's gluten sensitive menu with the new Udi's Gluten Free bun.
Schlotzsky's is a working bakery and is therefore not a gluten free environment. While each restaurant takes special precautions to prevent cross-contact, the possibility exists for food items to come in contact with other food products during preparation and cooking procedures. Additional ingredient information can be found at http://www.schlotzskys.com/public/pdf/allergen_scorecard.pdf.
Giving your Smartphone some 'Bun Fun'
Just in time for the birthday celebration, two new games debuted September 29 on the Lotz4Me loyalty app. Guests can now play the new Scratch, Match & Win game for chances to win thousands of food and drink prizes, including free Schlotzsky's for a year - entitling the winner to one free small The Original sandwich per week for 52 consecutive weeks. For a limited time, the game is available by scanning the QR code on all medium drinks to download the Lotz4Me app and matching two of the images on the screen, or by visiting the Lotz4Me web portal at www.schlotzskys.com. Every play is a potential winner. Visit www.schlotzskys.com for Official Rules and details.
Schlotzsky's is also introducing the Stackin' The Original game available permanently on the app, where players can stack the 13 fresh, flavorful ingredients that make up The Original sandwich, moving through progressively difficult levels in a test of skill and dexterity. Scores can be shared with friends on Facebook.
Since releasing the Lotz4Me guest rewards app earlier this summer, more than 100,000 guests have downloaded the app to be rewarded for their Schlotzsky's purchases. For every seven receipts scanned into the app worth over $7, guests are given a $7 credit to use on their next purchase at any participating Schlotzsky's location. The Lotz4Me app is available for download on the App Store.
"In our 43rd year, we are not only honoring our brand's proud heritage by celebrating the unique, quirky and fun spirit Schlotzsky's is built on, but we are using this opportunity to look to the future – exploring new ways to bring the full Schlotzsky's experience into the lives of more and more people," said Kelly Roddy, President of Schlotzsky's Bakery-Café.
