January 09, 2015 // Franchising.com // Westfield, NJ – After many months of planning, construction and licensing, the new Lightbridge Academy of Westfield – located at 751 Central Avenue – is now open and enrolling students, six weeks old through pre-K. To mark this much-anticipated occasion, the new early learning academy will play host to a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, January 10 between 10 and 11 a.m. – which will be attended by Mayor Andy Skibitsky and members of the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce, and a Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, January 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Westfield childcare facility – owned by Scotch Plains resident, Sue Semple Romano – marks the first to officially open up under the new brand name of Lightbridge AcademySM. Originally founded in 1997 as Rainbow Academy, the New Jersey-based franchise elected to re-brand in 2014 in planning for the company's expansion beyond New Jersey's borders. While all 17 of the other active centers throughout the Garden State now bear the new name with pride, Romano is exceedingly proud that her school is at the dawn of a new era as the first newly constructed Lightbridge Academy.
"It is truly wonderful to be part of a company that has an 18 year history of providing the very best in early education to its students," said Romano. "While the name may be new, the Circle of Care philosophy at the heart of this amazing company remains the same – viewing the needs of its children, parents, staff, owners and community as interconnected and equally important. We're excited to be a part of this long-standing and highly respected family of early learning centers, and to begin serving families in Union County. The response to our new school and beautiful building has been incredible. We invite everyone to come out and see what we're all about. My staff and I are really looking forward to meeting prospective new students and members of our community at the Grand Opening Celebration. It's going to be a very fun day!"
The Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, January 24 will feature tours of the school, games and "Look at What I'm Learning" activities in each of the classrooms, live kid-friendly music from Miss Kathy of Music to My Ears Entertainment, a fun photo booth for capturing memories, temporary tattoos, balloons, refreshments and more.
