WINGS-N-THINGS OF AMERICA AWARDS TEXAS DEVELOPMENTAL RIGHTS

Wings-Pizza-N-Things Sports Bar and Restaurants, with the developmental rights for more than 350 Wings-Pizza-N-Things restaurants already sold worldwide, has 18 operating entities in the United States and Puerto Rico and 12 more domestic locations currently under construction, feature fresh chicken wings, award winning pizza and Angus beef hamburgers served in a fast casual family restaurant setting.

The franchise was founded in 2002 by Francis Joseph Spillman, the founder of Pizza Inn restaurants. Spillman grew the Pizza Inn chain to more than 700 operating units before selling his interests in the franchise in 1987.

MFS USA, LLC will develop the Texas restaurants under the banner of WPNT TXB, LLC.

WPNT TXB, with its home office in Boerne, Texas, acquired the rights to develop 40 Wings-Pizza-N-Things units throughout Texas, outside of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Houston, El Paso and the Rio Grands Valley. Those areas of Texas already have franchise development agreements in place with Wings-N-Things of America.

“We are excited about this opportunity and eager to expand the Wings-Pizza-N-Things presence in Texas,” said Mark Patterson, the managing member of WPNT TXB, LLC. Patterson has more than 21 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, working with the Bennigans, Pepsi-Cola and the Hooters Restaurant organizations. Under Patterson’s leadership, he expanded a Hooters franchise territory from seven locations upon its acquisition in 1999 to 19 operating entities in 2003. “The Wings-Pizza-N-Things concept is ready to explode onto the national and international restaurant scene and our organization is proud to develop the brand throughout the State of Texas.”

WPNT TXB has been given the option to operate the restaurants itself or to market the opportunity to prospective franchisees who are looking to break into the restaurant business.

“One of the most exciting aspects of this opportunity we’ve acquired is the choice given to us to extend the opportunity to others who are looking to change careers and establish their own business opportunities,” said Patterson. “With the low start-up costs involved in establishing a Wings-Pizza-N-Things franchise, we’re finding many prospective owner/operators who are excited about the concept and are making the jump into owning their own establishments, Woking for themselves and building equity in a relatively short time period.”

Since acquiring the rights to the Texas market in July, WPNT TXB already has signed on two franchisees that will operate franchise locations in the San Antonio area.

“We’ve executed franchise agreements with two strong franchisees that will operate restaurants in the San Antonio market and we’re currently in development talks with others,” said Patterson. “We’re in the process of deciding what areas of the Texas we’ll allow other owner/operators to develop and what areas of the state we’ll reserve for our own operation.

“The Wings-Pizza-N-Things concept combines the most popular segments of the industry -- chicken wings, pizza and hamburgers -- with a sports bar. Those combinations appeal to a broad segment of the consumer market.
