Jiffy Lube International Receives 2006 ATMC Award of Excellence

HOUSTON - Jiffy Lube® International recently received the Automotive Training Managers Council (ATMC) 2006 Training Excellence Award at the annual Automotive Industry Planning Council (AIPC) banquet in Atlanta on November 29. The award recognizes Jiffy Lube® International's cutting-edge J-Team Service Standards (JTSS) program for its advanced training techniques.

JTSS blends computer-based and hands-on training to deliver a richer learning experience to Jiffy Lube® car-care technicians, customer service advisors, and service center managers. Its interactive modules instruct, simulate and quiz while its hands-on components enable employees to immediately practice what they have learned. "They're mastering critical job skills better and faster, and our customers are benefiting from that," said Ken Barber, manager of learning and training for Jiffy Lube® International.

"JTSS training combines powerful, interactive, teaching formats that employees thrive on," said Ernie Wagner, president of ATMC. "Jiffy Lube® International has an exemplary training tool in JTSS, and they should be proud of it."

"We appreciate ATMC recognizing JTSS as a valuable, balanced training tool," added Barber. "It teaches every employee our performance expectations and how to distinguish ourselves in the marketplace with a superior customer experience."

JTSS is now being implemented across Jiffy Lube® International's network of more than 2,200 North American service centers.
