Pizza Hut Turns 25 In Malaysia

(Sunday, February 04, 2007) - Pizza Hut on Jan 30 kicked off its Silver Jubilee anniversary celebrations in Malaysia, with a host of activities and promotions lined up for the year under the tagline "Eat.Laugh.Share".

"Pizza Hut has grown to be a household brand name in Malaysia demonstrating the enduring strengths of a traditional family eatery, in a traditional industry, that has not only survived but thrived.

"They (customers) come in droves for good food, fun and relaxation in a cozy setting, where they can eat, laugh and share together," said QSR Brands Bhd chairman Tan Sri Datuk Muhammad Ali Hashim. QSR holds the Pizza Hut franchise.

He was speaking at the launch of the 25th Anniversary celebrations in Kuala Lumpur on Jan 30. From its first outlet in Yow Chuan Plaza in Kuala Lumpur in 1982, Pizza Hut has grown to become the largest pizza chain in Malaysia with 152 restaurants nationwide.

Among the celebratory offerings, customers who submit photos of little celebrations with Pizza Hut before Feb 28 for its "Moments of Celebration Contest" have a chance to win Olympus Digital Cameras plus RM100 Pizza Hut vouchers.

Also, Pizza Hut rolled out special promotional menus that include its Anniversary Meals at RM10.90 per person and Anniversary Treats of side orders priced at RM3.50 with any Anniversary Meal purchased.

On top of that, kids below eight years of age get to eat free on weekdays for purchases RM30 and above with a maximum of two kids per transaction.
