Study Finds The UPS Store "Most Competitive Retailer" for 2007

SAN DIEGO, March 1, 2007 -- Results of a recent independent study have identified The UPS Store® as the most competitive retailer for 2007. The study, "New Dynamics that Create and Build Retailer Competitive Advantage 2007," stresses how a brand interacts with customers as a driving force in maintaining a competitive edge.

The results of the study, conducted by Kanbay Research Institute (KRI), were released at the National Retail Federation's (NRF) 96th annual convention. The study identified the key competitive strengths of The UPS Store as its staff competence, reputation as a retail leader, and the convenience of its locations.

"All of The UPS Store franchisees take great personal pride in this honor," said Stuart Mathis, president of Mail Boxes Etc., Inc., franchisor of The UPS Store brand. "It tells all of us that our customers are responding favorably to our efforts to provide world-class customer service—a commitment we intend to maintain and reinforce."

The report also singled out the entrepreneurial mindset of franchisees, a fair pricing model, and innovative franchisee training programs as other key factors in determining the ranking.
