Santa Cruz Jiffy Lube Honored as "Clean Ocean Business"

HOUSTON – Santa Cruz Jiffy Lube ® customers can take pride in doing good for their vehicles and for doing what's right for the environment. The Santa Cruz, Calif. Department of Public Works has officially recognized the city's Jiffy Lube ® service center as a "Clean Ocean Business" for meeting the city's Vehicle Service Facilities Best Environmental Management Practices standards.

Jiffy Lube ® demonstrated during a Department of Public Works inspection that its business practices meet Santa Cruz's objectives for reducing pollution from storm water run-off. The 1705 Soquel Avenue service center will now display decals informing customers it has made special efforts to keep pollutants from both storm drains and the sewer system to protect local creeks, the San Lorenzo River and the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.

"Environmental stewardship is very important to Jiffy Lube ®," said service center manager Jonathan Huegel. "As residents of Santa Cruz, we appreciate being recognized for our care for the environment.
