Winners Announced In Pizza Hut Reading Incentive Program

(Wednesday, May 16, 2007) - The Pizza Hut Book It! Program has announced the ten winners in the "All-Star Reader" classroom sweepstakes.

Hundreds of teachers from across the United States were qualified to win by confirming that 100 percent of their students met their reading goals all six months of the 2006-2007 Book It! Program.

Reaching more than 22 million kids each year, the Book It! Program is the largest reading incentive program in America for kindergarten through sixth grade children. The program encourages at-home reading time and provides teachers free materials to implement the program in classrooms.

Each of the ten winning classrooms will receive two $500 airline gift cards for the teacher's personal use, one $100 Barnes and Noble gift card for classroom use and a drawstring backpack containing a selection of Book It! Program incentive items and a $15 Pizza Hut gift card for each student in the class.

Shea Mulanax, Roland Elementary – Roland, Okla.
Rebecca Smalley, Scottdale Elementary – Scottdale, Pa.
Carol Simmons, St. Peter School – Elizabethtown, Pa.

Since its inception, Pizza Hut Inc. has invested approximately $290 million in the Book It! Program, and offers the materials to implement the program, as well as the incentives, free to teachers.
