Bear Stearns Continues Expansion in Asia with Five Key Hires in Global Equity Sales

HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bear Stearns Asia Limited today announced five new hires in its Global Equities Division (GED) sales team -- three in equity sales and two in institutional equity derivatives sales. These appointments are part of an ongoing growth strategy at Bear Stearns to strengthen its franchise in Asia. All five employees are based in Hong Kong and report to Michael Bugel and Edward Ho, senior managing directors and Co-Heads of Hong Kong GED Sales.

Strengthening the firm's global equity derivatives platform, Jerry Yoon, a managing director and Nathan Larsen, an associate director have joined institutional equity derivatives sales. For the past three years, Mr. Yoon was a director of the institutional derivatives sales team at Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong. Before that, he spent three years at Deutsche Bank as an institutional equity derivatives salesperson covering options, futures, market access and swap products. Over the last year, Mr. Larsen was responsible for equity derivatives sales to institutional clients at Calyon. He was also at Macquarie Bank for five years in various sales roles including equity derivatives and convertible bonds sales.

Vivinne Cheng and Jonathan Garrick have joined Asian equity sales as managing directors and Monica Lam as associate director. They also report to Mr. Bugel and Mr. Ho. Previously, Ms. Cheng was a Director of regional sales at HSBC and Mr. Garrick was a Director of hedge fund sales at HSBC Global Markets. Ms. Lam was with Axis Capital.
