Play N Trade Doubles Number of Open Stores in Less Than Six Months

Fifty Stores Across the U.S., Including Texas, Idaho, Arizona, Michigan, New Mexico, as well as Expansion into Canada

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Play N Trade Franchise, Inc., one of the fastest-growing franchises worldwide, today announced that it has doubled the number of open video game stores to 50 in less than six months. Play N Trade now has stores located across the U.S., Guam and Puerto Rico, and has expanded into Canada. To date, the company has sold the rights to open more than 250 stores, and is continuing to sell rights to open stores on a daily basis.

"We are now opening a new store every other day, and are on target to have 200 stores open by the end of the year," said Yuvi Shmul, CEO of Play N Trade. "Our rate of expansion is equal to or exceeds that of much larger franchise operations. This impressive growth is in direct response to the compelling opportunity we offer entrepreneurs to participate in the $12.5 billion video game market, and the outstanding execution of our go-to-market strategy."

Named one of the "Top 50 New Franchises" for 2007 by Entrepreneur magazine, Play N Trade delivers a unique customer experience that mixes retail with in-store tournaments and contests, a "try before you buy any game" policy, disc and console repair services, and an extensive selection of new and used games and consoles, ranging from retro to most current, making Play N Trade stores the destination of choice for gamers.

"Many people think that business success can only be achieved in large cities or urban areas, but Play N Trade stores are proving that success is possible anywhere," Shmul said. "From Chubbuck, Idaho to El Paso, Texas and from Tucson, Arizona to Comstock Park, Michigan, Play N Trade stores are fun, profitable places to work and are valued members of their local communities."

The Play N Trade business model does not include any corporate stores, but is built solely on the success of its franchisees. Corporate support for franchisees includes extensive sales, marketing and business management training, site location assistance, in-store digital advertising, a locally-branded Web site and the proprietary Play N Trade POS (Point of Sale) system.
