Houlihan's Re-Invents Ladies' Night with 'Viva la Diva' Thursdays

Casual Dining Restaurant Puts New Twist on Ladies' Night with `Risqué' Drink Line, Makeup Giveaways and the Official Cocktail of Fashion Week in New York

Leawood, KS – While ladies' nights at bars have been around for years, there's nothing traditional about Houlihan's introduction of "Viva la Diva" Thursdays, featuring giveaways of posh Bella II Fiore makeup kits featured in O and Cosmopolitan magazines and "flirty" drinks like the X-Rated Flirtini and the Brazilian Wax, the official cocktail of Fashion Week in New York.

Houlihan's creative twist on traditional ladies' nights kicks off on June 28 at locations across the country. With 105 locations, including several new prototype stores, which feature new architecture, interior design, uniforms, music, menu format, patio-style dining and a spacious, centerpiece and "ageless" bar, Houlihan's is the nation's leader in stylish, casual dining, known for setting new trends and staying on the cutting edge of consumer tastes.

"Our Viva la Diva promotion is our way of `treating' our female guests with a memorable ladies' night experience that's something a little different, a fun and chic evening they can look forward to every Thursday. We're offering them a Sex in the City-esque place to relax, laugh and chat with their girl friends." said Jen Gulvik, vice president of marketing for Houlihan's. "It's an excuse for them to make plans with the girls to enjoy some of our new delicious, creatively-prepared appetizers or other menu items to share with their friends, and to take in our energetic bar with indie music, flirtatious drinks and in general a night they won't forget."

In fact, Houlihan's website will now feature a page dedicated to "Viva la Diva," where women can upload their "Diva" pictures and blog about their "Diva" experiences.

Houlihan's "Viva la Diva" program includes $5 happy hour appetizers, a special play list of songs and their four new signature cocktails: The Blueberry Martini, a delicious mix of Stoli Blueberri vodka, blue curaco, pomegranate and Ocean Spray white cranberry juice; the Zentini, a refreshing blend of Zen Green Tea liqueur, Skyy vodka and Ocean Spray white cranberry juice; the X Rated Flirtini, X-Rated Fusion liqueur, Domaine Ste. Michelle Cuvee Brut Champagne and the Brazilian Wax, a mix of Leblon Cachaca, Triple Sec and pineapple juice that serves as the official cocktail of Fashion Week in New York. The first three martinis come with a glow bracelet.

Houlihan's will also introduce a new appetizer, the Three Dip Flight, perfect for sharing that includes white bean dip with tomatoes & basil, roasted red pepper and feta dip with Mediterranean olives and creamy artichoke dip served with tortilla chips and focaccia crisps.

Houlihan's is known for its scratch-cooking and innovative food presentation, including its eclectic selection of classic dishes infused with bold and interesting flavors, such as fish tacos, Thai chile Buffalo wings, a calamari salad tossed with Napa cabbage, cashews and a house banana-ginger vinaigrette. Houlihan's also pioneered the popular "mini" trend by being one of the first casual restaurants to offer a variety of fresh-made mini desserts, mini martinis served in flights of three and 'Mini Guinnies' consisting of small-sized drinks made with Guinness Stout.
