Marco's Pizza Smashes Its Own Expansion Record; Veteran Restaurant Entrepreneurs Agree to Develop 200 Units in Florida

TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Marco's Pizza, the 28-year-old chain founded in Toledo and home of the Ah! Thentic Italian Pizza, has signed an agreement with Dough Developers, Inc. to open more than 200 units through out the state of Florida over the next seven to 10 years.

Jack Butorac, Jr., president of Marco's Franchising LLC, announced the record expansion agreement for Marco's with Dough Developers principals' Glenn Ajmo, Scott Decker and Jon Gaudineer.

Coming on the heels of the introduction of Marco's Pizza to Florida residents at the opening of a restaurant in Newport Richey, FL this past Spring, Ajmo said he and his partners have researched "hot growth concepts" and combined with the reception the Newport Richey store received, "Marco's is the brand we want to work with."

Ajmo, Decker and Gaudineer are all veterans of the restaurant business.

Ajmo, a native of New Jersey, was the franchise area developer and chairman of the franchisee advisory council for Desert Moon Fresh Mexican Grille in New Jersey. He also was a former securities trader in New York. Decker, a native Floridian, attended the California Institute of Arts. He is a 35 year veteran of the restaurant business spending the last 17 years managing "casual theme" restaurants in Florida, Georgia, California and New Jersey such as "Tiffany's," "Pumphouse" and Coconut Joe's." Gaudineer, a native of New York and graduate of University of Southern Florida, also is a veteran of 35 years in restaurants. Most recently he operated Restaurant Development Associates of St. Petersburg, a restaurant construction firm. He spent 17 years with Specialty Restaurant Corporation of Anaheim, owners of 50 restaurant properties around the U.S. where he was an executive vice president.

"We are pleased to attract savvy restaurant entrepreneurs and operators like Glenn, Scott and John," chimed Bryon Stephens and Cam Cummins, Marco's franchise development vice presidents.

Marco's Pizza in Florida will offer customers its menu of custom-made Ah! Thentic Italian Pizzas, salads, chicken wings and soft drinks with carryout, delivery and some sit down service.
