Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Honored By Department of Defense

(NYSE: DTG) has been honored with the 2007 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award by the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense.

The company is one of 15 U.S. employers selected from 1,200 nominations to receive the national award based on its commitment to employees serving in the Guard and Reserve. The prestigious award is the highest in a series of Department of Defense awards recognizing employers representing three categories: big business, small business and the public sector. Recipients were nominated by their employees who voluntarily serve in the National Guard and Reserve for exceptional support above the requirements of federal law.

Guard and Reserve members are who are called to active duty are entitled to supplemental pay to bring them up to base salary level, if applicable and continuance of medical and some other benefits.

Paxton will accept the award on the company's behalf at a ceremony on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain active support from all public and private employers for the men and women of the National Guard and Reserve. ESGR volunteers provide free education, consultation, and if necessary mediation for employers of Guard and Reserve employees.
