Coverall Cleaning Concepts Teams with Procter & Gamble Professional to Donate 'Restore the Floor Day' at Pine Street Inn

Boston Team to Strip & Wax Floors at Homeless Shelter on July 30

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Coverall Cleaning Concepts is partnering with Procter & Gamble to donate a "Restore the Floor Day" to Boston's Pine Street Inn homeless shelter on Monday July 30, dispatching a team to strip and wax the floors in the facility's staff cafeteria and community room. The janitorial services company is supplying the machines and manpower for the project, while Procter & Gamble Professional is donating the floor stripper and wax to be used by the cleaning team.

The Regional Support Center of Coverall Cleaning Concepts selected Pine Street as its annual philanthropic project because of the extensive housing, outreach and job training services the organization provides to more than 1,300 homeless and low-income people in the Boston metropolitan area every day.

The two rooms that will be stripped and waxed have 1,740 square feet of tile. The community room serves as classroom space for the Inn's job readiness course, which helps more than 100 men and women each year secure and maintain employment. The staff cafeteria, run by homeless students in the Inn's Food Services Training Program, prepares and serves 100 meals a day to Pine Street employees and visitors.

"These rooms are used heavily every day and keeping the floors cleaned and shined is a highly labor-intensive task, so having a professional service handle the job will be a huge help to our facilities staff," said Scottie Wait, Director of Volunteer Programs for Pine Street Inn. "It's unusual to have a company donate maintenance services, and it's a creative way to help a not-for-profit organization like ours."

"We have great admiration for the services that Pine Street provides and the amount of work required to keep the facility going. The minute you walk in the door, you know that this is an organization that deserves help," said Joe Falbo, Regional Director of Coverall Cleaning Concepts' Boston Support Center, which is donating the services on behalf of the company's 284 Boston-area franchises. "They fill a critical need in the community, and this is our way of showing appreciation for their efforts."
