Boston Pizza opens its first restaurant in Guelph

New location creates 110 jobs in the community

The new Boston Pizza, located at 35 Woodlawn Road West, will create 110 new jobs in the community.

Local Guelph resident, Derek McPhadden, will serve as the general manager of Boston Pizza Woodlawn Road and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.

"We are looking forward to serving the growing community of Guelph," says McPhadden. "Our new restaurant will provide the high level of quality and service that Boston Pizza is known for across the country."

Boston Pizza is more than just pizza - with more than 100 menu items, there's something for everyone. Guests can choose from gourmet pasta, pizza, appetizers, ribs, entrées, salads and desserts. Boston Pizza also offers six delicious menu items with the Health Check TM symbol.

The 6,200 sq. ft. restaurant offers guests two experiences under one roof - a full-service, casual dining room and a separate sports bar decorated with local sports memorabilia. Boston Pizza also offers take-out and delivery service and is open late seven days a week.

The staff of Boston Pizza Woodlawn Road will present a cheque to the Guelph Professional Firefighters Benevolent Association from tips generated through six "dress rehearsals" at the grand opening party on Friday, August 31st.

Boston Pizza Woodlawn Road will be actively involved in the community and will support local sports teams, including the Guelph Storm Hockey Club and the Guelph Gryphons, schools and charities. The restaurant will also raise funds for Kids Help Phone, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation through the Boston Pizza Foundation, which has raised $6.2 million for various Canadian charities.
