Boston Pizza continues to grow in Winnipeg with eighth store opening

New restaurant opening creates 125 new jobs

October 22, 2007 // Franchising.com // Winnipeg, - Boston Pizza International Inc. announces the grand opening of its eighth restaurant and sports bar in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Monday, October 22, 2007. The new restaurant, located at 1-690 St. James Street across from the Polo Park Shopping Centre, will create 125 new jobs in the local community.

Boston Pizza Polo Park is owned by franchisees Richard Enright and Kim Enright and partner Craig Poleshuk. Poleshuk, a long-time Winnipeg resident with more than 18 years of restaurant industry experience, will serve as the general manager of the store.

"We're excited to open a new Boston Pizza restaurant in such a great, convenient location in Winnipeg," says Poleshuk. "We are committed to establishing quality relationships with the community by supporting local sports teams, charities and schools."

As part of its commitment to the local community, the staff of Boston Pizza Polo Park will present a cheque to the Rehabilitation Centre for Children from tips generated through six "dress rehearsals" at the grand opening party on Friday, October 19th. Through the E.Y.E. business group in Winnipeg, Poleshuk has helped to raise $20,000 for the Rehabilitation Centre for Children.

Boston Pizza Polo Park will also raise funds for Kids Help Phone, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation through the Boston Pizza Foundation, which has raised $6.2 million for various Canadian charities. In 2007 alone, Boston Pizza restaurants across Manitoba raised $138,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
