Hair Saloon Announces Partnership with Buddy Fund

October 24, 2007 // Franchising.com // Hair Saloon For Men is proud to announce its partnership with the Buddy Fund, a local charity that provides sports equipment to area organizations that use organized sports to attract and help kids whose quality of life is in jeopardy. The Buddy Fund, founded in 1962 by sports announcer Buddy Blattner, believes that participation in organized sports builds self confidence and teaches valuable lessons about hard work and how to succeed in life.

Participation in organized team sports contributes to the positive development of young minds and bodies and plays a vital role in influencing kids in need of guidance and direction. Charlie Young, Chairman of the Buddy Fund, states that organized sports help children "learn to play by the rules and respect authority, understand the value of teamwork and deal with both success and failure. Without safe, modern sports equipment, sports-based community programs that teach such values cannot be successful."

Tom Twellman, President and Founder of Hair Saloon For Men, said, "The Buddy Fund is a small St. Louis charity, run by a dedicated group of volunteer directors, that has a long history of helping kids through sports. It's a perfect fit for our company and customers. We believe we can increase community awareness and certainly increase participation in their fund-raising efforts."

As part of this partnership, Hair Saloon will be an information headquarters for the Buddy Fund, which will help increase community awareness as well as charitable donations. If you would like to learn more about the Buddy Fund and how you can make a difference, visit their website at buddyfund.org. Information about the Buddy Fund will also be coming soon to all St. Louis area locations.
