Boston Pizza opens its first location in Waterdown
New restaurant committed to community involvement
October 29, 2007 // Franchising.com // Waterdown, ON, - Boston Pizza International Inc. announces the grand opening of its first restaurant and sports bar in Waterdown, Ontario on Monday, October 29, 2007. The new restaurant, located at 4 Horseshoe Crescent, will create 120 new jobs in the local community.
Boston Pizza Waterdown is owned and operated by franchisees Graham and Silke Flint, and Rob McKenzie. McKenzie brings 14 years of experience in the casual dining business to the new restaurant. Flint is a local resident of Waterdown and was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the Flamborough Chamber of Commerce. He is also one of the founders of Friends of Rural Communities and the Environment (FORCE) where he now serves as chairman and spokesperson.
"We're excited to open a Boston Pizza to cater to the busy lives of Waterdown families by offering them exceptional guest service and quality food in a fun atmosphere," says Flint. "We are strongly committed to establishing long-lasting relationships within the community and becoming part of the many great things that are happening in Waterdown."
As part of its commitment to the local community, the staff of Boston Pizza Waterdown will present a cheque to the Flamborough Food Bank from tips generated through six "dress rehearsals" at the grand opening party on Friday, October 26. The restaurant is already actively involved in the community sponsoring the Flamborough Sabres Hockey Team and Alan A. Greenleaf Public School through the Hamilton Kids Read program.
Boston Pizza Waterdown will also raise funds for Kids Help Phone, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation through the Boston Pizza Foundation, which has raised $6.2 million for various Canadian charities.

The restaurant will feature a community corner with heritage photographs from the Flamborough archives. Boston Pizza also offers a take-out and delivery service and is open late seven days a week.
