Former Military Man Puts Your Painting Woes At Ease

November 14, 2007 // Franchising.com // (Loganville, GA)---It seems everyone has a home improvement nightmare. Whether it was the driveway paver that only did half the job or the landscaper who mowed a beautiful garden into mulch, each instance serves as a cautionary tale of what happens when the work is left to someone else. The do-it-yourself approach is also appealing, but who really has the time?

Bill Sharp has heard the horror stories and understands that not everyone has that eye for color or infinite amount of spare time (he himself is a father of three). As a former Army armor officer and highest ranking cadet at the Virginia Military Institute, Sharp knew the importance of honesty and hard work and, thankfully, so did CertaPro Painters.

CertaPro Painters is the largest painting company in North America and the only large-scale, full-time, franchised commercial and residential painting business in the home improvement industry. CertaPro provides superior interior, exterior and special painting services to residential and commercial customers. CertaPro franchisees establish large-scale, regional painting companies backed by CertaPro's proven track record as the "Brand of Certainty" and a customer referral rate that exceeds 95 percent.

"I like to know that I am delivering certainty in a very uncertain industry," said Sharp, 36. "So many of my clients have told me stories of how horrible their previous experiences have been, painters that were prepaid and never finished the job or a paintjob that looked good when it was done but didn't withstand the test of time. We really respect the individual and follow through with our promises."

With the current crawl of the housing market and more people electing to upgrade their homes instead of moving than ever before, Sharp has had his hands full.

"Atlanta has grown and grown and I've learned how to put life back into homes ranging from three to 90 years old and the proper techniques to make each home look its best," said Sharp. "So many people have told me that they were going to move, but then decided to stay put at the last minute. I really love working with people in their homes and helping them to transform their homes inside and out is an amazing feeling."

Since beginning his career with CertaPro in 2003, Sharp has completed countless residential and commercial jobs in Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Lilburn, Snellville, Lithonia and Conyers; however, one project still stands out in his mind. During his second year in business, Sharp was selected by the Gwinnett County Historical Society to refurbish the exterior of the Elisha Winn House, the oldest house in Gwinnett County. The house was built in 1812 and required many repairs and preparation before painting could begin. Thanks to his attention to detail and don't-stop-till-the-job-is-done work ethic, Sharp was able to restore the house to its original beauty and color palate without taking away its historical significance.

For Sharp, a job well done is the only way to do it. With the help of CertaPro, he has been able to provide a high caliber of service while staying true to his values.

"Integrity is something that really means a lot to me. As a cadet at VMI I was taught not to lie, cheat, steal nor tolerate those who do. This code of ethics carries over to everything that I do. It's in the fabric of who I am," said Sharp. "At CertaPro we make a promise, and then deliver with quality results."
