Sweet Peppers Deli Expands to the Carolinas

COLUMBUS, Miss.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The award winning Sweet Peppers Deli has announced its entrance into North and South Carolina. Recently 3 counties were purchased by Tabitha Poteat and Christopher Borders of Peppers Delta East, Inc. of Charlotte, North Carolina. York County, South Carolina, will be the first development for Poteat and Borders with an opening date set for late summer or early fall 2008. The location will be in Fort Mill, South Carolina in the planned community of Baxter Village developed by Clear Springs Development Company, LLC. Sweet Peppers Deli will be joining with other prestigious merchants, restaurants and offices in the Baxter Village Town Center and Village Shops. The deli will total 3500 square feet and seat approximately 128 guests. Mecklenburg and Cabarrus County, North Carolina will be the next counties developed by Poteat and Borders.

"This is a time of growth for Sweet Peppers Deli as we continue to increase our presence in the Southeast," stated John Bean, of Sweet Peppers Franchise Systems, LLC. "We are excited that Tabitha and Chris have decided to bring our concept to the Carolinas. Peppers will finalize several more agreements over the coming weeks that will add locations on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, Alabama and Florida," stated Bean.

Peppers Deli features a menu of salads, soups, signature sandwiches, panini (Italian pressed sandwiches) and wraps presented in a unique atmosphere including neon signs, bright colors, wifi, French doors that will open the restaurant for patio dining and an open and airy layout. Sweet Peppers Deli offers a combination of counter and table service. Customers will enter the restaurant and place their order at the front counter, then receive full service from the wait staff once they are seated.

The Sweet Peppers Deli concept began in 1997 when North Mississippi Restaurateurs, John, Bernard and Myrrl Bean, along with Robert Fort of Columbus, Mississippi joined forces with Robin Fant, creator of Bulldog Deli, in Starkville Mississippi. Bulldog Deli served as a prototype for the first Peppers Deli. Currently there are 9 Delis located in Mississippi and Alabama with a 10th location opening in December in Tennessee.
