Realogy Employees Raise $35,000 for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

Donation Among Top Ten Largest Corporate Contributions in New Jersey

November 30, 2007 // Franchising.com // PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Realogy Corporation, a global provider of real estate and relocation services, today announced that a grass-roots effort by many of its employees raised over $35,000 for the American Cancer Society (ACS). Employees participated in the ACS's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, held in Parsippany, N.J., on Oct. 21, and various fundraising efforts leading up to the event culminating in one of the ten largest single corporate contributions in the state.

Employee efforts were led by Realogy's employee-based volunteer group, F.L.A.G., which stands for "Fostering Leadership, Awareness and Giving." F.L.A.G. supports both local and national charities through donations of time, money, and talent, while helping employees gain leadership experience in the process.

"I'm extremely proud of F.L.A.G. and honored to work with such dedicated and caring people," said Dave Weaving, Realogy's chief administrative officer. "All of the pace setters, walkers, and everyone who contributed to helping us surpass our fundraising goal have made a positive impact on fighting breast cancer."

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a noncompetitive walk, typically five kilometers in length, held in locations throughout the country each year.

"It is touching to see a group of co-workers come together to raise money for such an important cause," said Michele Horst, senior director of corporate relations at the American Cancer Society. "Realogy employees not only exceeded their own goals, but they also helped us to raise more money than we had expected for the Parsippany event."

Of all eight events held in New Jersey by the American Cancer Society on Oct. 21, Realogy employees represented one of the ten largest corporate contributors, with a team of more than 150 walkers. In total, the Parsippany event raised approximately $750,000 this year. Since 1993, the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events have raised more than $230 million to help fight breast cancer. Money raised through the Making Strides events helps to fund research endeavors, a 24-hour hotline, programs and services for cancer patients, as well as several other advocacy and support efforts.
