Leafs assistant coach brings Boston Pizza to hometown of Stouffville

New restaurant creates 110 new jobs in the community

December 07, 2007 // Franchising.com // Stouffville, Ont.,- Boston Pizza International Inc. announces the grand opening of its first restaurant and sports bar in Stouffville, Ontario on Monday, December 10, 2007. The new restaurant, located at 1060 Hoover Park Drive, will create 110 new jobs in the local community.

The restaurant is owned by Keith Acton, assistant coach to the Toronto Maple Leafs, his wife Susan Acton, and Lee Porter. Acton and his wife Susan reside in Stouffville with their four children. Scott Jarrett will serve as the general manager of the restaurant.

"We look forward to offering the best casual family dining and sports bar experience in the area," says Keith Acton. "We will also work hard to become a valued community partner and will support many local sports teams, schools and charities."

Boston Pizza offers guests two experiences under one roof - a full-service, casual dining room and a separate sports bar with sports memorabilia and HD big screen TVs. Boston Pizza also offers a take-out and delivery service and is open late seven days a week.

As part of its commitment to the local community, the staff of Boston Pizza Stouffville will present a cheque to the Whitchurch-Stouffville Emergency Care Fund from tips generated through four "dress rehearsals" at the grand opening party on Friday, December 7.

The restaurant will also raise funds for Kids Help Phone, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation through the Boston Pizza Foundation, which has raised $7.2 million for various Canadian charities.
