Boston Pizza continues Edmonton area expansion with new Beaumont location

Restaurant opening creates 70 new jobs in the community

December 10, 2007 // Franchising.com // Beaumont, AB, - Boston Pizza International Inc. announces the grand opening of its first restaurant and sports bar in Beaumont, Alberta at 6210-50th Street on the week of Monday, December 10, 2007. The new restaurant will create 70 new jobs in the local community and builds on Boston Pizza's growing presence in the Edmonton area.

Andrew Jenkins will serve as the general manager of Boston Pizza Beaumont. Over the past 10 years, Jenkins has worked his way up from a dishwasher at Boston Pizza to now operating the Beaumont location. Jenkins' operating partners include Rich Coyle, Steve Robbins, Greg Ung, Roger Brodeur, Daryll Brodeur and Jim Toth.

"We look forward to offering the residents of Beaumont a great place to catch the game and enjoy delicious food in a fun atmosphere," says Jenkins. "We are also very excited to become actively involved in our local community."

The staff of Boston Pizza Beaumont will present a cheque to the Sydney & Clara Hutton Trust Fund from tips generated through six "dress rehearsals" at the grand opening party on Friday, December 7.

The new restaurant will support local sports teams, schools and charities including the Beaumont Regional Athletic Centre. Boston Pizza Beaumont will also raise funds for Kids Help Phone, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada through the Boston Pizza Foundation, which has raised $7.2 million for Canadian charities.

Boston Pizza now offers six delicious menu items featuring the Health Check TM symbol that are lower in fat, sodium and carbohydrate content, and a revamped kids menu. Boston Pizza Beaumont will also feature a separate take-out and delivery entrance to better serve its guests. The restaurant will be open late seven days a week.
