Second Kitchener location creates 110 new jobs in the community

December 14, 2007 // Franchising.com // Kitchener, Ont., - Boston Pizza International Inc. announces the grand opening of its second restaurant and sports bar location in Kitchener, Ontario on Monday, December 17, 2007. The new restaurant, located at 721 Ottawa St., will create 110 new jobs in the local community.

Boston Pizza Alpine is owned by David Toye who brings more than 25 years of industry experience to the new location. The general manager of the restaurant is Stewart McKie. Toye also owns the first Boston Pizza that opened in Kitchener in June 2004. The new restaurant is the third Boston Pizza to open in the Kitchener-Waterloo area in less than five years.

"Our first Boston Pizza location experienced such great success in Kitchener that we opened a second restaurant to serve our growing community," says Toye. "We look forward to offering the best casual family dining and sports bar experience in this high traffic area."

Boston Pizza offers guests two experiences under one roof - a full-service, casual dining room and a separate sports bar with sports memorabilia and HD big screen TVs. Boston Pizza also offers take-out and delivery service and is open late seven days a week.

As part of its commitment to the local community, the staff of Boston Pizza Alpine will present a cheque to the Children's Wish Foundation from tips generated through six "dress rehearsals" at the grand opening party on Friday, December 14.

Boston Pizza Alpine will also support local schools, charities and sports teams including the Kitchener Rangers Junior 'A' Hockey Team. The restaurant will also raise funds for Kids Help Phone, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation through the Boston Pizza Foundation, which has raised $7.2 million for various Canadian charities.
