January 25, 2008 // Franchising.com // - BARTLETT, Illinois – The husband-wife team of Ian and Kimberlee Campbell have opened the first northwest suburban Chicago Pet Butler franchise, America's leading pet waste cleanup and removal service. Pet owners in northwestern Chicago now have an affordable, environmentally friendly service to pick up what their pets leave behind. The Campbells' Pet Butler operation is the third franchise in the Chicago area.
Kimberlee, a professional organizational learning program development manager in the telecom industry, is stepping out of the office and into people's yards, in a new role that enables her to help keep neighborhoods and public spaces free of dog waste. Ian, an electrical union foreman, will assist with managing the franchise. Kimberlee will oversee the strategic side of the business, while Ian will manage the operation.
Texas-based Pet Butler provides professional pet waste cleanup and removal services for individual homeowners and their pets, as well as for multi-family communities and parks. The company proudly bills itself as "#1 in the '#2' business."
Pet Butler charges a small per-visit fee to collect dog and cat waste, carry it away, and dispose of it properly. Whether in yards or in public spaces, accumulated domestic animal waste can ruin lawns and present a significant source of water pollution.
The Campbells' Pet Butler operation offers weekly and twice-weekly pickup service to the Bartlett, Wayne, Saint Charles, Geneva, West Chicago, and Carol Stream areas with plans to expand service to all of north and northwest Chicago in the next year.
"Families in the Chicago area are very busy," said Kimberlee. "They love their pets and want to make sure they are taken care of, yet picking up dog poop is an undesirable necessity of pet ownership. That's why Pet Butler is such a great service. We do the dirty work for them."
The Campbells are excited about leaving the corporate world and starting a new career. "We love being outdoors and we love animals. What better way to spend your life than doing what you love, while working for yourself?" said Kimberlee.
The Campbells are human companions to three dogs, including two Jack Russells and a Maltese. With three dogs, they know how important it is to keep a yard poop-free. Kimberlee added, "We had a pet waste service pick up after our pets for three years, so we can appreciate firsthand the value of a pet waste cleanup service. Our Pet Butler business will target people like us, who are just too busy to clean up dog poop. There are a lot of families like us in the Chicago metro area."
Matt "Red" Boswell, CEO (Chief Excrement Officer) of Pet Butler, is excited to have the Campbells as part of the Pet Butler family, "Ian and Kimberlee will make a great addition to the Pet Butler team. With the addition of this third franchise partner in the Chicago area, the city and its surrounding communities are on their way to being dog poop-free."
Pet Butler is leading the growth in the professional poop scooping market, with more than 90 franchises across the U.S. In Illinois, Pet Butler also has franchise operations serving Buffalo Grove and Naperville.
