Blue Moon Mexican Cafe Hosts Franchise Opportunity Night

CEO Outlines Expansion Plans for NYC Metro Area

BRONXVILLE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Blue Moon Mexican Café held its first Franchise Opportunity Night of 2008 at the company's flagship Bronxville, NY, location on Tuesday, January 29th.

The event exceeded expectations by attracting over thirty attendees. Guests began the evening welcomed by company management and treated to a sampling of the company's fresh Mexican and Southwestern fare. "We didn't know what to expect given the time of year and the cold weather, but the turnout shows there is significant interest in our concept in this area. People know us, love us and want to grow with us," said Colleen Grennan, Blue Moon VP, Operations.

The main event featured a presentation by Howie Felixbrod, founder and CEO of Blue Moon Mexican Café. Felixbrod outlined the company's plans of opening several locations in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties as the first leg of a New York metropolitan area expansion through franchising. "The suburban areas north of New York City offer the same demographics as our very successful locations in Bergen County," said Felixbrod. "We're opening our first franchise location in New City in a few weeks, and Westchester has been very good to us with our Bronxville location, so naturally we looked here first."

Felixbrod explained to the audience the advantages of franchising and the reasons Blue Moon is an excellent opportunity. "A Blue Moon franchise is a great investment for anyone thinking of opening a restaurant," he said. "There's no reason to reinvent the wheel. We offer a tried and true system, polished and perfected over 20 years."

In addition, Felixbrod discussed the strong professional support in place, from the experienced management team to a complete training program that covers daily operations, inventory control, site selection, restaurant design and business management.

Felixbrod also highlighted Blue Moon's excellent unit economics. Felixbrod pointed out an average Blue Moon can bring in $1.7 million in yearly gross revenue in its restaurants that average 2,500 square feet. "That easily exceeds industry average," he said.

Also presenting at the event was Gerry Houlihan, President of Houlihan Business Brokers, Bronxville, NY, and Reginald Heard, CEO of Bankers One Capital, Danbury, CT. Gerry specializes in the sale of restaurant businesses and real estate in the food service industry. Bankers One Capital is a full-service finance company that services the franchise, hospitality, and restaurant industries.
