Bojangles' Celebrates 400th Restaurant

Daleville, Alabama, Location Marks Milestone for Growing QSR Company

February 13, 2008 // // CHARLOTTE, N.C. – It is a big day for fans of Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits. The 400th Bojangles' location opened this morning in Daleville, Ala.

"We're about to wake up some taste buds in Daleville," said Randy Kibler, Bojangles' President and Chief Executive Officer. "We are excited to be expanding in Alabama. Bojangles' is growing because we offer a unique flavor profile, the freshest quality chicken and made from scratch biscuits, along with our Legendary Sweet Tea. Once a customer tries Bojangles', their taste buds simply demand another stop at Bojangles'."

The Bojangles' in Daleville is located at 25 S. Daleville Ave. The location is owned by Bojangles' franchise partner Winco LLC, which also operates a Bojangles' in Dothan, Ala. Under the direction of franchisees Bryan and Scott Applefield, Winco has plans to open another location in Enterprise, Ala., later this year. The unit manager of the Daleville location is Donald Smith.

The first Bojangles' was opened by founders Jack Fulk and Richard Thomas in July 1977 in the South End area of Charlotte, NC. In 2007, new Bojangles' locations were developed in Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, Florida, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The company expects it will open over 40 restaurants during 2008 to go along with a number of major renovations of existing locations.

"Bojangles' has a big fan following around the country. We hear from people all the time that lived in the southeast and wants to know when we are going to open a restaurant in their new hometown," Kibler said. "We're proud of the loyalty of our customers and the fact that some will go as far as making blog posts about their Bojangles' cravings."
