Gold's Gym International Names Mike Feinman Chief Operating Officer

Former 24 Hour Fitness Executive to Oversee U.S. Operations for GGI's 60 Plus Corporate-Owned Clubs

February 14, 2008 // Franchising.com // Gold's Gym International (GGI), the largest co-ed gym chain in the world and most recognized name in fitness, announced today that it has hired Mike Feinman to serve as Chief Operating Officer. With extensive experience in all facets of the fitness and retail industries, Feinman will oversee national operations for all of GGI's corporate-owned facilities.

"We've known Mike for several years now and are excited to have him on board," said David Schnabel, CEO of Gold's Gym International. "We've admired his accomplishments from afar and look forward to having his expertise in-house. Mike will bring great energy, knowledge and capability to our organization."

Feinman was most recently Vice President of 24-Hour Fitness, where he oversaw some of the company's biggest initiatives. This included 24 Hour Fitness' celebrity licensed clubs, its "JV" clubs and new business ventures such as the company's smaller format facilities. Before becoming Vice President, Feinman ran operations for the company's 70-club central Midwest division and won the award for top performance in the company two years in a row.

"I'm excited and honored to join the Gold's Gym family," said Feinman. "Gold's Gym has a tremendous brand with an edge and attitude that really sets it apart from the competition. I'm looking forward to working with the team here to take our business to the next level and improve our ability to change more lives than ever."

Prior to 24 Hour Fitness, Feinman spent 18 years at Pepsico (now known as Yum Brands) owner of several fast food concepts, where he was consistently a top performer. As a senior director, Feinman ran operations across 80 restaurant locations and led the Taco Bell training function for the 7,000 company, franchise and license locations. He also developed innovative customer feedback systems and a 30,000-restaurant operations evaluation system.

At GGI, Feinman will be in charge of all areas of the company's corporate-owned club operations including membership sales, corporate sales, customer care, personal training and group exercise. Feinman will report directly to David Schnabel.
