Servpro Industries, Inc., Supporting Red Cross Relief Effort in Middle Tennessee

February 14, 2008 // Franchising.com // GALLATIN, Tenn.--As the American Red Cross amasses and distributes supplies and volunteers to bring relief to the victims of last week's devastating tornadoes in Middle Tennessee, Servpro Industries, Inc., has volunteered much-needed office, warehouse and staging space to aid in the relief effort.

SERVPRO, a nationally franchised fire and water cleanup and restoration company, is honored to be hosting the Red Cross in its former headquarters in Gallatin. The Red Cross is using the building and warehouse facility as its central command to coordinate relief efforts for the affected areas of Middle Tennessee.

From the central command headquarters, the Red Cross is coordinating more than 300 official Red Cross volunteers from more than 20 states in the mid-state area alone. The volunteers have served more than 15,000 meals and snacks in the Middle Tennessee area. The Red Cross will be using the SERVPRO facility as long as its on-the-ground relief efforts continue to provide disaster victims with emergency assistance in the form of food, clothing, shelter and financial assistance.

"We are honored that SERVPRO has so generously donated this space, which so well fits our needs," says Gary Miller, Job Director for the Tennessee tornado relief operation. "The location gives us close proximity to the residents we are here to serve, which is extremely important and the combination of single offices and open space allows us to work as a unified team, making our assistance process that much more efficient."

Rick Isaacson, Executive Vice President for SERVPRO, said, "The Red Cross is such an incredible blessing to people in these times of emergencies, and people need to understand just how organized and efficient they are in bringing relief to the communities they serve. Those who are in a position to donate time or money should take another look at the Red Cross and the good they do. The use of our building is small in comparison to what the Red Cross and its volunteers are doing in our community. We are happy to be able to contribute to their efforts."
