Amarillo Can Now Say Goodbye to Pet Waste, Thanks to Pet Butler
February 27, 2008 // Franchising.com // - AMARILLO, Texas – Pet owners in the Amarillo and Canyon area who are weary of picking up pet waste now have a convenient and affordable service to take care of their dirty work. Pet Butler, the nation's leading pet waste cleanup service, is expanding to the Amarillo area. It is the company's 9th franchise in Texas.
Bill Ahring of Canyon has stepped up to keep local yards and public spaces free of pet waste by opening the first Amarillo-area franchise of Pet Butler.
Dallas-based Pet Butler provides professional pet waste cleanup and removal services for individual homeowners and their pets, as well as for multi-family communities and parks. The company proudly bills itself as "#1 in the '#2' business," and recently scooped its 40 millionth pile of poop.
Pet Butler charges a small per-visit fee to collect dog and cat waste, carry it away, and dispose of it properly. Whether in yards or in public spaces, accumulated domestic animal waste can ruin lawns and present a significant source of water pollution.
Ahring's Pet Butler operation will offer pickup services to the Amarillo and Canyon areas.
"This area is full of young families," Ahring said of his service area. "They just don't have the time to scoop poop. Pet waste is something that people would rather not think about. Most people would much rather have someone else take care of their pet's mess, and that's where I come in."
Ahring, who previously worked in retail management, said he looks forward to building his new business. "Pet Butler is a great opportunity for me to be my own boss. I'm excited to use my more than 30 years in customer service to benefit this new franchise.
I love Canyon and the people and pets that live here. I'm thrilled to have a business where I can serve the people of this great area."
Ahring has a Dalmatian, a Chow/Newfoundland mix, a European Golden Collie and a six-month old Newfoundland puppy. With all those animals, he understands the need to scoop poop properly.
Matt "Red" Boswell, CEO (Chief Excrement Officer) of Pet Butler, noted that the company is now leading the growth in the professional poop scooping market, with more than 90 franchises across the United States. In Texas, Pet Butler also has franchises in San Antonio, Houston, Odessa, and an additional 21 corporately owned territories in Dallas/Fort Worth.
