March 06, 2008 // Franchising.com // Local business people and dignitaries will come together on Monday 3rd March to celebrate the official opening of the first new Beefeater to open in eight years – The Duck. Located on the prestigious Calthorpe Estate on Hagley Road in Edgbaston, the restaurant will be situated alongside a brand new Premier Inn hotel.

Guests from within the local community are expected to attend the opening celebration party, which kicks off at 7pm. Guests will be treated to a champagne reception and canapés before being invited to take part in a wine tasting session and watch a chargrilling master class by an expert Beefeater chef! Throughout the evening guests will be able to enjoy mini chargrill tasters from the menu and will also be invited to take an exclusive tour of the new Premier Inn hotel.

Managing Director of Whitbread Restaurants, Mark Phillips, will officially cut the ribbon marking the latest addition to the Beefeater and Premier Inn portfolio.

Tracy Reid, General Manager said: "We are planning an exciting event for the opening of The Duck Beefeater and Premier Inn hotel. We are positive that the restaurant and hotel will prove a huge success in the local area and are very excited about welcoming guests to our great new restaurant."

Mark Lambert, Director of Development at Calthorpe Estates commented: "The restaurant, which is the first new Beefeater in eight years, together with the new hotel will help to regenerate an important gateway to Birmingham.
