Catherine Monson, President Of Pip Printing & Document Services Appointed To IFA Board Of Directors

March 13, 2008 // Franchising.com // - Catherine Monson, president of PIP Printing & Document Services and Director of Franchise Services, Inc., has been nominated to serve on the 2008 International Franchise Association's board of directors. She and four other leading franchise professionals were appointed to their posts during the association's recent 48th annual convention in February in Orlando.

"I am very proud of Catherine's contributions to our companies over the last 27 years," said Don Lowe, CEO of Franchise Services, Inc., parent company of PIP. "Her knowledge and insight about franchising will serve the association well."

Monson's experience in franchising began in 1980 at Sir Speedy where she began her career in franchise sales. She rose through the ranks over the next sixteen years from western regional operations manager to vice president of franchise development to chief marketing officer. After Sir Speedy's parent company, Franchise Services, Inc., acquired MultiCopy, a European printing franchisor, Monson was appointed to direct MultiCopy's operations in the Netherlands. Monson was appointed president of PIP Printing & Document Services, another Franchise Services company, in 1999.

"I am extremely honored to have been appointed to this board and I look forward to furthering the valuable work of the IFA," said Monson. "Franchised businesses are a vital and growing part of the U.S. economy. They provide one out of seven private sector jobs and generate total economic output of more than $1.53 trillion dollars, nearly 10% of the total U.S. private sector. Franchised businesses in the U.S. exceed $506 billion, or 11%, of private sector payroll. Franchising helps franchisees realize their dreams of entrepreneurship, providing for their families and their employees."

Monson further stated, "The IFA is committed to protecting, enhancing and promoting franchising. Our objective is to build local businesses, one opportunity at a time. At the foundation of IFA are its values of integrity, respect, trust, commitment to excellence, honesty and diversity. The IFA is committed, as am I, to developing the framework for best practices in franchise relationships for all IFA members."
