Cousins Subs Opens New Store in Mequon, Wis.

March 25, 2008 // Franchising.com // Menomonee Falls, WI - Cousins Subs Systems, Inc. recently announced the opening of its new store located on West Mequon Road in Mequon, Wis. The store will officially open March 27, and is owned by Craig and Lisa Liebenstein.

"Lisa has been a part of Cousins since 1986. She started out as a member of the Cousins Subs work crew and worked her way up to management," said Craig Liebenstein. "The next logical step for us was to become franchisees, so we seized the opportunity in 2005 and purchased our first store in Grafton."

"We are thrilled the Liebensteins decided to open up their third store with Cousins," said Kerry Espich, manager of franchise sales and recruitment for Cousins Subs. "They are an integral part of the Cousins Subs team, and we look forward to the new store's success."

The Liebensteins have focused their store growth to Ozaukee County with their first store in Grafton and a second store in Port Washington. They decided to go for store number three when an opportunity presented itself to open a Cousins Subs franchised unit in the Mequon community.

"The decision to become Cousins franchisees has been a great experience for our family," Lisa Liebenstein added. "We have successfully operated three stores in three years, and there are always the potential plans to open another store in the future."

The new store is located at 1424 West Mequon Road just west of Port Washington Road, and can be reached by phone at (262) 241-7010.

About Cousins Subs

Cousins Subs is based in Milwaukee, Wis., and is a national sub sandwich chain with stores throughout the Midwest and on the West Coast. The tradition of Cousins Subs started in 1972, when two transplanted cousins from Atlantic City saw the need for an East coast–style sub shop in their new hometown. They patterned their subs after the hoagie, grinder, hero and sub sandwiches they enjoyed back East. And with a dedication to delivering quality subs at fair prices, they opened their first restaurant. From the start, the two used bread baked fresh every morning and insisted on using only the finest, freshest ingredients.
