Cousins Subs Opens New Store in Scottsburg

March 25, 2008 // Franchising.com // Menomonee Falls, WI - Cousins Subs Systems, Inc. announced the opening of its new store at South Lake Road South located in the new Lake Road Shoppes shopping center near the intersection of Highway 56 and Lake Road in Scottsburg. The store is owned by Jim and Karen Railing and their daughter, Shantel Vaughn.

"We are very proud of the accomplishments of the Railing family. With Railing's business background in the franchise industry and Shantel's experience in the food industry, they make a great team," said Kerry Espich, manager of franchise sales and recruitment for Cousins Subs. "This is their second store since joining Cousins Subs only a year ago."

The location features a full-service drive-thru, a grill and French fries in addition to the sub-shop's traditional elements like daily fresh baked breads and cookies, and top-quality meats. In addition, the Scottsburg store provides catering and delivery services for meetings and events.

"We are excited about the opening of the Scottsburg store," said Vaughn. "Our hope is to make this restaurant a destination where people can pick up their meal conveniently in the drive-thru, or where they can relax and be comfortable while eating their meal with our soon-to-be-installed flat screen televisions."

Jim Railing, a former resident of Scottsburg, is an area developer with Cousins Subs and plans a large expansion of additional store locations in central and southern Indiana. Previously, he founded Monument Financial Capital which is engaged in providing franchise finance and investment banking services on behalf of experienced, multi-unit franchise owners primarily in the restaurant sector.

"The management at Cousins Subs has been remarkable in their support and assistance with the opening of our two stores," said Railing. "I fully intend to keep the momentum going with plans to open more stores in the future."
