Hyatt Renews Partnership with Clear

NEW YORK, April 1, 2008 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Clear, the fast pass through airport security, announced today that it has renewed its partnership with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. Clear and Hyatt will continue national co- marketing campaigns and Hyatt will continue to offer Diamond and Platinum members of its Hyatt Gold Passport program complimentary one-year memberships in Clear.

Hyatt Hotels & Resorts struck a partnership with Clear two years ago (February, 2006) on the heels of the U.S. government's announcement that a fast lane program at major airports would soon launch. Hyatt was the first hotel group to align with Clear, demonstrating its leadership in providing its guests with cutting edge new products and services. Clear cards are now accepted in 17 airports including the newly-launched Washington Reagan National and Dulles International Airports, and Oakland International Airport. Fliers are also anticipating the launch of the fast pass program in Atlanta. Clear Cards will be accepted in Atlanta no matter what provider the Airport selects.

As part of the partnership, Hyatt has extended to tens of thousands of its Gold Passport Diamond and Platinum tier members the opportunity to receive a Clear membership on a complimentary basis. In addition, Hyatt made its local locations around the country available to host Clear enrollment stations as a convenience for Hyatt guests. This has contributed significantly to the growth of the program in airports in San Francisco, Denver, and New York that have adopted Clear. The conveniently located Hyatt locations provided, and continue to provide, easy access for business travelers and corporate executives to enroll quickly as the program grew.

"Hyatt is proud to provide Clear to our most loyal guests and proud to be the first hotel chain to do so," said Tom O'Toole, Hyatt's Chief Marketing Officer. "Clear provides fliers with a quality travel experience."

Clear has enrolled more than 128,000 members nationwide. Clear provides members with access to a separate, faster line through airport security checkpoints by using an identity card containing their encrypted fingerprint or iris images. Applicants start their enrollment at flyclear.com and complete the process at an enrollment location where their fingerprints and iris images are captured and their identification is validated. As part of Clear's strategic marketing partnership with Hyatt, select Gold Passport members are eligible to receive a complimentary year of Clear membership when they start their enrollment at flyclear.com/hyatt.

"Hyatt was Clear's first major marketing partner and we're thrilled to continue this partnership," said Clear CEO Steven Brill. "We know that Hyatt puts its customers first at every interaction and we're delighted that they will continue to offer their best customers complimentary memberships in Clear."

Hyatt currently hosts Clear enrollment centers at the Grand Hyatt New York, Grand Hyatt Denver, Hyatt Regency Tech Center in Denver and Hyatt Regency Atlanta. To complete the process, applicants must bring two pieces of government-issued ID (passport and driver's license are strongly recommended) to the hotels.
