Vehicle Tracking Solutions Announces Suffolk County Water Authority as Newest Client

April 01, 2008 // Franchising.com // - Vehicle Tracking Solutions (VTS), a Long Island-based GPS fleet management company, is pleased to announce that Suffolk County Water Authority, the largest public water company in Suffolk County, New York, is now utilizing their services.

SCWA is headquartered in Oakdale, NY and serves over 1 million people throughout the county. They decided to implement a GPS tracking system in order to increase efficiency, improve customer service and reduce costs.

After examining the GPS systems being used by the Towns of Islip, Babylon and Huntington, SCWA decided VTS' system was most compatible with their needs. Their decision was based on product features, user-friendliness, cost and customer service.

Using the VTS fleet management system, SCWA can now do the following:

  • Dispatch closest vehicle to customer in the most efficient way possible
  • Resolve account receivable issues with customers, by having accurate records of water turn-on/off time and location
  • Ensure company vehicles are well maintained for safer operating conditions through the use of mileage reports and the Vehicle Maintenance Module
  • Lower insurance costs due to theft recoverability and proof of safe driving practices among employees
  • Improve customer service by decreasing response time

Suffolk County Water uses WebView™, VTS' web-based application, which can be viewed from any computer with internet access. Vehicle Tracking Solutions also offers FleetMinder, a software-based application which utilizes Microsoft MapPoint for detailed mapping. VTS Mobile is also available to all VTS customers at no additional cost. This application allows customers to view their fleet status from any web-enabled cell phone.
