Jazzercise Founder/CEO Judi Sheppard Missett was a Member of the Stellar Women's Leadership Delegation to China

CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Judi Sheppard Missett, founder and CEO of Jazzercise, the world's leading dance fitness program, joined a select group of women U.S. political and business leaders for the Stellar Women's Leadership Delegation to China. The trip, March 13-22, included visits to Hong Kong, Lijiang, Beijing and Shanghai, and enabled American and Chinese female leaders to meet and exchange ideas on vital issues.

"I am honored to be on the forefront of forging ties with Chinese business counterparts," said Missett. "Jazzercise is an international business with franchisees in 32 countries, including China, and we intend to build our ties and presence in this critical global market."

Hosted by the All China Women's Federation, China's most prominent women's organization, this select group of 30 delegates met with Chinese women business leaders and explored how empowering women can create a more humane and compassionate world for women, their families and the communities in which they live.

In addition to the educational seminars in which the delegation participated, the group enjoyed a reception and dinner in Beijing at the home of U.S. Ambassador Clark T. Randt and his wife Sarah, and a reception in Shanghai with U.S. Consul General Ken Jarrett.

Fitness was also a part of the trip, as Judi Sheppard Missett led Jazzercise classes for the delegation and also keynoted a business symposium in Shanghai sponsored by the Shanghai Women's Entrepreneur Association and the American Chamber of Commerce. Underscoring the notion that dance is a universal language, local Chinese men and women spontaneously joined the group on the bund (riverwalk) in Shanghai.

"China is such an incredible country," said Missett, "Its history, scenery and people are spectacular. But most of all, the business women of China are truly amazing and I am honored to have been given the insight into the key role women play in the social and economic growth of this extraordinary country."
