April 22, 2008 // Franchising.com // DALLAS –After eight weeks of sweat, determination and support from an online fitness community of thousands, Gold's Gym is proud to announce the winner of its first-ever online body transformation challenge.

In a competition that featured more than 5,500 contestants and produced countless success stories from around the country, Kellie Johnson's story stood out above the rest. In just two months, she was able to lose more than 25 pounds and 5.6 % body fat. Since she began exercising and dieting in June of 2007, she's lost an incredible 134 pounds and has gone from a size 28 to a size 12.

No gimmicks. No fad diets. No surgery.

"I feel amazing," said Johnson, 34, of Austin, TX. "To go from being over 300 pounds to where I am today has been a true life-changing experience. My friends, family and the staff at Gold's Gym have all been a huge help. I think I'm proof that anyone can get in shape with a little motivation and the right support."

As voted by other online challengers and a panel of judges, Johnson will receive a Gold's Gym Passport good for a trip for two to any Gold's Gym location in the world including 42 states and 30 countries. She'll be able to choose from destinations such as New York, Los Angeles, Sydney, Tokyo, Cairo, London, Miami and Honolulu. She will also receive a one-year Gold's Gym membership and a $500 GoldsGear.com shopping spree. Greg Sweitzer of Manchester, PA took second place and Lorraine Frankfurt of Annandale, VA took third place in the online challenge.

The first-ever Gold's Gym Challenge was designed to provide all Americans with a unique online fitness community that helps them achieve their goals. The Challenge was free of charge to members and non-members and allowed participants to track their achievements by providing interactive tools and community forums. Participants were also granted complimentary seven-day memberships to any Gold's Gym of their choice, upon joining the Challenge.
