DALLAS, April 23, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX News Network/ -- Romano's Macaroni Grill and its guests have made a positive difference in the lives of many elderly, disabled and homebound Americans. On April 15, the Italian restaurant brand presented a check of more than $100,000 as a result of its dessert promotion held earlier this year.
From February 18 through the end of March, $1 from each sale of the new Three-Berry Tiramisu was donated to the Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA). The dessert features lemon cake layered with blackberry, raspberry and strawberry puree, sweet mascarpone and whipped cream, topped with strawberries and crushed almond biscotti.
"We are proud of this donation because it was a collective effort by both our Macaroni Grill team members and guests," said Nancy Hampton, Vice President of Brand Strategy for Macaroni Grill. "Our restaurants have always taken pride in giving back and this is a great example of that continued commitment."
"We are so grateful for our partnership with Macaroni Grill. They are dedicated to our cause and understand our mission of ending senior hunger. We look forward to the future of this relationship and thank them for all they do for our organization," said Enid Borden, President and CEO of MOWAA.
The national partnership continues to grow, as various Macaroni Grill team members from restaurants and the restaurant support center dedicate time delivering meals, feeding volunteers and making personal connections.
